Nature Journal

My nature journal is a collection of photos that covers creatures that creep, crawl and fly within the magnanimity of creation. That’s right. Magnanimity. What a wonderful word.

American Dagger Moth, Aug. 12 2019
This snarly little dude strutted nonchalantly across the hot pavement nearby my bus stop. Adorned with yellow, furry attire and dangerous black spikes making it a perfect fit for the aspiring Dagger Moth. Rest assured, this style will be in season next year too.
Ozark Swallowtail, Aug. 12 2019
This 10 cm charcoal black-winged butterfly fluttered with confidence across my front lawn. Its tail is adorned with baby blue tear-dropped bulbs aligned with beige-white dots that says "Catch me". What a sight! An American cousin visiting or here to stay?
Common Grackle, June 15 2022
A shiny stell blue scalp, flat-shaped with charcoal body. Lanky dude that pecks away at the lawn probably looking for some tasty wormy food as an afternoon snack. Sleek and efficient. Often overlooked, but beautiful all the same.
